Parametric Structures (sketches and ideas)

I initially came up with 4 ideas for a furniture design I thought would be interesting. But I decided this last one was my favourite so I made a few iterations of this 'push in style' little table. I thought it could make a pretty neat parametric design if I cut out several segments of wood with the CNC machine and then finish the tabletop off with either another piece of wood or glass potentially. If I were to make it full scale it would be pretty manageable I think as a relatively small surfaced table just over the height of a standard chair or couch.

I have a few more ideas of how I might want this to look but wasn't quite sure how to fabricate them so more to come! I think we might have done this briefly in class but I forget how to separate a volumetric geometry into parametric style segments. I was imagining a more hourglass or organic curved form that had uneven parametric sections sort of like this chair *below* but wasn't sure how to get there.

I also couldn't figure out how to fillet edges of a 3D geometry. I was trying to sort of explode it like you can with a 2D shape to get access to the sides and vertices... but couldn't figure it out for an extruded geometry.
