This week our team discussed ideas and shared sketches of our designs. I shared two ideas which included a parametric display shelf, and some kind of heat regulating cover design for the 3D printers.
Some kind of design inspired from this unit I thought would be pretty manageable to design, versatile, and logical to construct physically from CNC cut pieces.
I also sent the group a quick mock up schedule, to give us an idea of how much time we might want to spend on each step of our process, as well as a few brainstorm ideas as to what jobs we might want to assign in the future.
Class was very helpful to speak with most of the team in person and work through our ideas after a week of brainstorming. We decided to all create a quick mock up of our own interpretation of the parametric display shelf, so we can pick our favorite design to construct. Along with the group we spoke about ways we can get ahead of schedule and make sure we stay on track for deadlines. As well as came up with a few notes on things to remember and basic parameters to consider while designing our shelves this week. We updated the schedule to keep everyone up to date with our homework and planned to share our designs a few nights before class to begin narrowing down our decision. I believe I have assumed the role of the planner because of my love for charts and note taking! 😅
