After 2 weeks it's starting to look more like a plane. I was able to work through some of the problems and questions I had from last week to get to where I'm at now. Obviously, I still need to do the front wings and a bunch of details, but it's coming together.

My biggest concern going forward is the print and pattern details on the side of the plane. If I lay out the text and 2D design, I'm not sure how to form it to fit against the curved surface. Once I figure that out I think I'll be on the home stretch.
One other detail that's bothering me is the windshield. I struggled to make this weird curved surface in the first place and I'm still not happy with how it looks rendered. The overall shape is pretty close to accurate but because it's a hollowed-out form (shell) and transparent plastic when in render mode it almost just looks like a wireframe. If there is some kind of tool that would allow me to MergeFace 3D surfaces or something similar that would be ideal. Otherwise I'll just rework it to look as similar as possible.
